    Description

For your consideration, an outstanding and exceedingly RARE original Rene Lalique pre-war Antelope (or "Antilope") figurine.  Circa 1929. Marcilhac reference #1148.
Included is what I believe to be its original box.  The previous owner told me this example had been purchased new during Christmas of 1930 by her mom at Lord & Taylor department store in NYC, and stored in the box most of its life.  A quick online search reveals Rene Lalique was indeed manufacturing and SIGNING the Lord & Taylor name to some atomizers as early as 1924!... and were a prominent Lalique dealer for decades.
*** UPDATE as I've received several questions.  Please see the last two photos of the animal in the box (fits perfectly) and a closer view of the box. It's clearly vintage, and Lord & Taylor and Rene Lalique have a documented connection (see RLalique.com), but I cannot swear to the originality of THIS box to THIS piece.  It appears to be accurate, but I am going by the story the daughter recalled.  Please be your own judge, I have no way to truly verify. ***
Please note this piece is also acid stamped "R Lalique" but with the uncommon "double-tail Q" mark.
It's larger than Rene's "cachets" or "seals", but smaller than a paperweight!  Measures slightly under 3.5" in height.
Condition is NEAR MINT.  There are no scratches, chips, repairs, polishing, damage, EXCEPT one very small "flea-bite" nick you can feel with your fingernail and can be seen in photo 8 (under the left side of antler.)  Please note the uneven antlers seen from above in photo 7 are factory made.  The seam (this piece was moulded) is not dead center, and it's most evident here. This is the nature of pressed glass.
The antlers (and all other parts) are as made (see last factory catalog photo) and there has been no polishing or repairs, which is very difficult to find when these do surface on the market.
For the Rene Lalique collector of "smalls", this animal is a rare find and a treat to add to your collection.  You Will Be Impressed!
Shipping and insurance will be based on your location.  International buyers are welcome, however I will not falsify documentation regarding declared value.
    Thank you for your interest.
