Description
Handsome large-format fold-out 1939 map of Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies, printed more than 79 years ago.This map opens to a generous 24" x 42" and is lithographed in color on a fine-quality paper.
It was compiled by the Cartographic Division of the National Geographic Society, and the coverage area extends from Baja California to Trinidad and the northeast coast of Venezuela, including part of the southeastern United States.
The map is drawn on a scale of 90 miles to one inch, and details include highways, railroads, canals, cities, towns, archaeological ruins, and natural features, with numerous historical annotations, within an attractive ruled border.
There are six insets: Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, Saint Thomas, the Isthmus of Panama, Jamaica, Cuba, and Bermuda.
Among the other named places and features on the map are the Panama Canal, Havana, Costa Rica, British Honduras (Belize), Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Nicaragua, Guatemala, the Inter-American Highway, Barbados, Haiti, Medellin, Barranquilla, Maracaibo, United States Naval Station at Guantanamo, Key West, New Orleans, Texas, Quintana Roo, San Salvador, Yuma, Cabo san Lucas, Durango, and many hundreds more.

This map is in very good condition, bright and clean, with
no
