Description
This is a nice, original, brilliant uncirculated,
“Crown”
or
“Silver Dollar”
plus size, silver,
"One Riyal"
from the
"Yemen Arab Republic"
. It was struck in Cairo, Egypt and dual dated, both 1963 and
"Anno Hegirae"
or AH 1382 which began June 4, 1962.
The Yemen Arab Republic, also known as North Yemen, existed from 1962 until 1990 in the northwestern part of present-day Yemen. Its capital was Sanaa. The republic was established following a coup d’état that deposed the newly crowned King Muhammad al-Badr. This marked the beginning of the North Yemen Civil War. The republic was recognized by Saudi Arabia in 1970. Despite occasional conflicts with its southeastern neighbor, the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen
(South Yemen),
the two nations declared their intention to unify, which was realized in 1990.

The Coin:
It never saw use but has a few marks and some light toning as well as brilliant cartwheel luster. Fully original, it has not been cleaned. As grading is subjective, please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
