Map Middle America – National Geographic
A two-sided map dealing with the pre-Columbian archaeological finds in middle America. The map-side contains a National Geographic informational map including most of Mexico into Honduras and El Salvador, on which are many notations of the locations of finds. Included is a map inset showing the subject area as it relates to a larger geographical area. There are also detailed map insets of Teotihacan, Monte Alban, Chichenitza, and Tikal (see all photos). The reverse-side titled “Middle America Before Cortes” contains a lengthy narrative dealing the evolution of the culture, the power of the gods, the art of writing, major and minor arts, and astronomy, arithmetic, and the march of time. There is also a large map inset of the V
alley of Mexico (around Mexico City), providing much the same information as on the other map side. Included is an index and a yardstick of time showing the various periods and what was occurring in various parts middle America. An unusually informative National Geographic map.
Map is approximately 19” x 25”.
The National Geographic is known for it's fine maps & detailed information.
