    Human activity in the Amazon region of South America (Amazonia), like the recent fires, are putting unsustainable pressures on it's ecosystems. The health of the region – and the world's ability to cope with climate change” – will depend on reversing this trend.
    The map-side of this study shows a detailed map of Amazonia, color-coded to indicate land cover (use), roads, rivers, and hydroelectric plants. There are three map insets showing managed areas, where resources (minerals, oil, and gas) are located, and landscape that has been altered by fire and deforestation. The reverse art-side contains a discussion of the three main types of rain forest and contains illustrations of some of the Amazonian wildlife.
