    Description

Bachmann 2-Truck Shay (sound, smoke,DCC) - Roaring Camp Railroad Dixiana. Condition is excellent condition.  I used it a little, and very powerful engine to pull with.  I never had the larger layout to work with.
I used to be a fireman on the both Shay and Climax locomotives.  I had this painted like the Dixiana at Roaring Camp Railroad, had DCC installed with the sound system Phoenix sound system, I believe, but it does have sound).  Green lantern in front of the cylinders, behind the air tank is an indicator light when the smoke system is running (which can be toggled on and off with the DCC system).  When you turn on the smoke system, the green lantern is lights up.  When you turn it off, the lantern is off.  It's a heavy smoke system too.
This was converted to an oil burning shay...straight stack and not a ballooned chamber for embers to burn out.  Lights work, firebox has the orange, red lights, and rear light works also by direction.  The dust is from sitting on my desk as I went back to the computer field.
Why am I selling?  After working for Union Pacific for 12 years over Donner Summit and Feather River Canyon and worked for Roaring Camp Railroad for 4 years prior, I just didn't have time to work with the models as I was working with the real thing...even this shay because I was working at Roaring Camp with 8.75% grade and switchback of 9.5% grade as a fireman.  Great railroad, and the next step was to make the cars like the ones there.
Cilantro and bee boxes not included.  The bridge was used for display of the engine and not included either.  ALSO ==>  The last photo is of me on the actual Dixiana as I was a fireman on that engine for 4 years for reference.  Selling as I am not using it, but not giving this away.
The model is dusty and I found out that cleaning it makes it worth less.  You can clean it if you like, but there is value in the old dusty loco.  You can also create the wire screen mesh for the stack like the real steam engine, put deer antlers and other things.  We did have the hose for the steam to clean the platform or such, but it was inside the locomotive, not hanging on the side.  We always said steam is a luxury, water is a necessity.  So, we never really used the hose or such like the model had.  We carried a water can on the engine in case of embers.  2 walkers at the end of each day would walk down to make sure for the night on the rails.
