The accurate and repeatable measurement of optical power and signal loss in fiber is essential for installing, maintaining or troubleshooting fiber optics. By measuring optical power, the meter can verify the proper installation and operation of a variety of fiber optic components, such as fiber hub modules, repeaters and adapter cards. By measuring signal loss, it can help identify faulty patch cables, failing splices or bad couplers and connectors.
