    Description

This is a stunning Lalique “Tete De Lion” Frosted Heavy Glass High Detail 1970’s Dish.
This piece is hard to find in condition as such, as it is without cracked, chips, or any heavy flaws. The only sign of wear on this piece is barely perceptible slight, surface level scuffs that almost entirely come at the base.
I have always been taken by the masterful craftsmanship of this Vintage Lalique 1970s bowl. The design features a high detail, finitely etched aggressive and bold lion’s head with a beautiful flowing frosted glass mane. This frosted glass mane stretches across the entirety of the upper portion of the dish/tray.
The frosted glass composition of this French made Lalique piece gives it a wonderful and unique “cool tone” hue - the contrast between that of the frosted glass vs that of the crystal clear elements give this piece a sense of depth and character.
I have included photos of the reverse side of this dish, as the complexity of the glass design - the masterful manipulation of the glass material at hand, is perhaps best evidenced from below!
This is the best conditioned Lalique “Tete De Lion” that I have come across in doing extensive research. Many are chipped, cracked, heavily scratched, stained, dulled, etc. A hard find as is, but in the condition this piece is in? Nearly an impossible find.
Engraved "Lalique France" on the base for authenticity.
